how to freeze the "baseline" ? (or another way)

I really consider Merlin to be a lightweight and easy-to-use software, but there is something I really need and I haven't figured out how to do: how should I update a task so that its originally scheduled date continues to be shown in the "gantt view"? (I'm not 100% sure about this, but in another tool I think I had to freeze the baseline - and this meant that the originally scheduled execution date could no longer be changed, generating the graphic effect reported above - where you can visually see that a task was executed late or even early). I'm using the "express" version. Thank you very much!

ed Hi, this is not possible with Express.
In Merlin Project you can show the originally planned dates (Planned Start or Planned End) as column…

and as an additional gantt bar, enabling the Secondary bars in the View options

In addition… ever since v9 Merlin Project has a Dynamic baseline. Just select a Reference date in the past for the Planned values and the secondary bar to show as expected then.
