Hi all, hope well - looking for some opinions regarding Merlin.
I am part of a small business and we're looking for some planning software that we can access from Macs PCs and iDevices, (maybe Android or web browsers too). so...........
I'm kind of looking for a solution that combines the structure of managing tasks, projects, and clients with the detailed breakdown of activities like travel, work, breaks etc. A very glorified calendar if you will.
Imagine a small company, with up to 12 field staff and 3 office staff. We need to be able to easily track time and basic details such that it becomes something people actually want to use.
The way the business works as an example might be;
Take the case where a service contract is won with a company called Crown Shopping Centre. The contract is for two visits a year and we give that contract a sales order reference let's call it SO1153.
When the first visit is due, an admin in the office will allocate a task to an engineer;
Service task i0589.
The task requires two people due to the lifting required and therefore an additional task will be allocated to another engineer;
Assisting task i0590.
These tasks are linked by the sales order number.
As field engineers they need to be able to differentiate between certain activities within the same task on that day. So for example each day may be structured as per below;
Travel TO site, (with an entry field for distance covered).
Work on site.
Lunch.
Work on site.
Travel FROM site, (with an entry field for distance covered).
Imagine also that Engineer 1 is depicted by a blue bar on the chart and this chart is further granulised by having light blue represent non work, (ie travel and lunch etc), with dark blue representing actual worked time.
The engineers must be able to edit their tasks with actual times and mileages in the app.
Is it possible to do something like this with Merlin?
Thanks in advance.
