Hi Peter, I was hoping there would be some suggestions to this, as I don't have any.
According to seasoned project managers, it pays not to be very granular about the planned or actual effort. If having more to manage than to actually do, it overcomplicates the managing and tracking procedure without actually helping you towards successful completion of the project.
So if you simply enter your actual worked value on an ongoing task at the end of the day by an approximate amount of your work (3 hours) and actualise this amount the next day you work on the same task by editing it to 5.5 hours (for adding 2.5 more hours) that would be what I would do.
I wouldn't wait until a tracking system gives me an info of 5.14 hours and some remaining hours and leave the task for days without updating its actual work done.
Of course if you plan your project by work cost you'll want your actual work values to be accurate. In this case, you can indeed use your app to record the amount spent and update the actual work by that amount.
Best regards, Vicky
